Fashion, music, and mayhem...

So its been a while since I've blogged but I'm back now! <3

In every family there is at least one (if not more) who have absolutely no fashion sense. Even in my family there are two people who just fail at fashion. One would be my older brother, for example: yesterday he walks into the house in a Hawaiian shirt (gross!) paired with a plaid short. Now I love my brother but really, a pattern with a pattern? Very few people can pull that off and my brother is not one of them.

The other person in my family would be my mother. I honestly do not know how she raised two daughters who love fashion because my mother is a fashion disaster. Yesterday she asked me to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer, no big deal until I found a pair of jeans in the washer that were from the mid 1990's. They were my older sisters pants when she was like 12 or 13, my mom is still wearing them. My mother has this problem with us getting rid of our old clothes, she will go through the bags before we give them to goodwill and take what she doesn't want us to throw out and then she will continue to wear it. My mom has clothes that are probably older than me, she still has jackets with shoulder pads in them and she wears them in public. Its frustrating because I wish she would dress better because I have always found a correlation between looking nice and self-esteem. I love her but I wish she would care about her own look! <3

So the new edition of Vogue came out recently and I of course went and bought it the day it came out! I was so excited to see the preview of the fall collections the clothes look amazing! Especially the 1950's themed collection because it means this 1980's look is on its way out! I hate the 1980's look; it looked like crap in the 80's and I don't know who thought it would look any less crappy in the 2000's. That means leggings, ripped jeans, and huge baggy shirts are going out!!! This makes me so incredibly happy because it means that I will not be assaulted by these styles every time I go shopping.

So the last two weeks in K-pop have been pretty amazing, lots of awesome music has been premiering and I will share a little bit of it with you! My favorites of the past two weeks: T.O.P. Turn It Up : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdPnMoxKOWY  This is an awesome song and T.O.P. is an extremely good looking Korean man, I love him!!!

Also this week Norazo released their first single, 카레 (Curry), off their fourth album, 환골탈태 (Vol.4 Hwangol Taltae). It starts slow but definitely gets to be hilarious after that. I love this video and song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-nllU2YfsE

Also a new girl group debuted recently that I really really like because they can ALL sing really well! Miss A is a JYP group and their debut single is 'Good girl, bad Girl'. They're awesome and I really like them and hope they will do really well!

And for my last pick, its not a new release though it is recently I think it came out a few weeks ago. While I hate the music video the song is so powerful. The artist G.E.M. Tang is a Chinese born singer and for her young age is extremely talented. This song, A.I.N.Y (Stands for 'Although I need you', but also sounds like I love you in mandarin 'wo ai ni' ) is very powerful and well written. Her original lyrics are beautiful and she has a very powerful/soulful voice! Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gaB9ov-Om0

Oh, to be vain like me!

Hello and welcome!

This is my first post and I'm excited because I finally get to spew all of my opinions and thoughts out into the stratosphere and someone might just read them (granted it might just be my mom, but that's someone). So I'll just to start on a level playing Field I'll tell everyone in cyberspace some things about my wonderful self:

1.) I really am vain and a narcissist. Now I'm not the kind that only knows how to talk about themselves, I'm more the kind that always thinks I'm right, or the best, or the prettiest (you get the picture). I don't really think that this is a trait that is unique to myself, just that I'm one of the only ones who will actually admit it. For example when I'm getting groceries at Walmart I always think I'm the best dressed (cause I usually am) and that I'm the best damned thing in the place (this is also pretty much the truth). I really love mirrors and if there is one within a twenty foot radius of me I will find a way to gaze at myself in it. I have an opinion about absolutely everything, if you don't like different opinions than don't ask.

2.) I love music. I listen to everything but country (giving hicks guitars was such a bad idea). While I am a Vocal Performance major and have trained for years in Classical/Operatic musical performance, I am also an avid lover of hip-hop, rap, and electronic dance music. (And yes, when my favorite rap songs get played on the radio I rap my little white girl heart out). While I love American music, I also love Asian music which brings me too my next point...

3.) I love Asia! If I had my way I would have been born Korean as opposed to American-Hungarian. People always ask me why and when my obsession with all the different Asian countries started, but I have no conclusive answer. One day I stumbled upon this amazing Japanese Drama (Hana Yori Dango) and have been in love ever since. After I fell in love with Japan it led me to Taiwan, which led to Korea, which led to China, which led to Vietnam, which led to Thailand etc. You get the picture I hope. I love all the pop and hip-hop that comes from all of these countries though I am picky about what I will listen to. My dream is to marry a Korean man because I definently find them the most attractive and I think they're smexy!
4.) I am extremely opinionated about all things entertainment, beware cause I mean it.

5.) Fat people at walmart who ride around in the automatic-chair-carts because they don't want to walk really really piss me off. I mean if you legitimately cant walk whatever but being obese is not an excuse, walking is how you become un-obese (yeah I made that term up).

6.) I am by no means thin, I am the size of the American woman size 12-14 (depends on the brand). I am very very proud of this fact because it means I have awesome curves and I can wear outfits skinny chicks can't. I say if you got it work it because nobodies going to do it for you. Nobody cares about your size if you work it. :~P

7.) I am a great performer. Just going to put it out there because its true. Operatic singing came to me naturally though I have worked my butt off to get to my current skill level and will have to keep working it off because I still have a long ways to go.

8.) I have great parents and three siblings. I'm very close with my older sister and my older brother and I get along decently well. I do have a younger brother but due to his many issues I am estranged from him; that's all I will ever say about him.

9.) I love fashion!! High fashion and name brands and designers; that's my world. I live by the fashion bible (Vogue for all you less fashion forward people). I pride myself on trying to always look nice and presentable because you never know who you will meet. You will never see me in public in sweatpants or tee shirts or sweatshirts (even grocery shopping). To me that can easily lead to wearing bum-y clothes everywhere and I will not allow myself to slip into that. Lady Gaga is a huge fashion (as well as musical) influence in my life, I love her style and her personality. She is the epitome of beauty, grace, and confidence and she continually delivers her art in a way which is beautiful and moving.

10.) I will listen to or watch anything. Ask anything and I will do my best to always answer in a way that is interesting and funny. I love to meet new people so feel free to say hello anytime!

So until tomorrow I wish you peace, health, happiness and prosperity!

Jill
